Free Life, Singing, is my first (and to date the only vinyl) recording. At the time the idea was going around that in order to present yourself to "the world" as a serious musician all you had to do was put out one record. It was a kind of calling card that said you were willing to sink significant money into your hopes; for me it cost a quarter of my annual income as a handyman. I recorded at my house with a borrowed mic and had no money for an engineer, no idea of reverb or eq, and just did the best I could in mastering it. This sound quality here is improved, as in the other tracks, but the original--still available!--has a quality you would expect under the circumstances.
